A Happy Easter Saturday!

10th April 2024

Easter Saturday saw the return of FQEP’s popular Big Easter Trail. More than 40 painted wooden eggs depicting Easter themes, nursery rhymes and children’s story book characters, and a range of other colourful pictures were hidden among the trees.

Over 120 children took part in the event with their families. Each was given a map to follow, to help them seek out the eggs, and also to look for 16 hidden letters which spelt out the names of three British birds. The answers were ‘robin’, ‘wren’ and ‘bluetit’. Despite having to negotiate the odd muddy puddle, everyone said they had a fun afternoon in the park. Friends of Queen Elizabeth Park were happy to reward all participants with a small chocolate gift.

“Thank you to everyone who came along to support the FQEP Big Easter Trail,” said Sue Runciman, Chair of Friends of Queen Elizabeth Park. “The smiles on the children’s faces returning with their maps proved that they had really enjoyed their afternoon running around the park.”
