Thanks to Blackwater Valley Countryside Trust

Friends of Queen Elizabeth Park would like to say a big thank-you to Blackwater Valley Countryside Trust for choosing our group as a recipient of their Small Grant Scheme. We are delighted with their generous grant which has enabled us to buy more native daffodils, snowdrops and anemones from specialist suppliers, two beautiful, big owl boxes and ten birdboxes of various sizes.

Armed with spades and ladders, the October Work Party set about putting up the boxes and planting the bulbs. It was a lovely day and the group worked hard, knowing that the fruits of their labour would bring extra splashes of colour and, hopefully, lots of baby chicks into the park in springtime.

Again, huge thanks to the team at BVCT for helping us to continue the important work our Work Parties undertake every month, and also to Steve, from Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership, for his enthusiasm, endless knowledge and support.
